There is no consistent definition of the precise area it covers, partly because the term has a wide range of geopolitical, geographical, ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic connotations. We did not delete any media files at the windows explorer level!!! PLEASE let support guide you through this process.Digital rendering of Europe, focused over the continent's eastern portionĮastern Europe is an ambiguous term that refers to the eastern portions of the European continent. It took a lot of time but we recovered over 7TB's of space and did not loose a single frame of footage! We were 100% successful with this workflow. We could then safely delete without worry. We then deleted that folder on interplay in the usual manner so that the clips that were truely orphans would go to the Orphan Clips folder. We checked in to interplay the bin of clips the standalone MC had discovered. I then copied the dummy avid project back to our isis/interplay system and opened the project on a connected Symphony. (DISACLAIMER - the next item was not approved by AVID support but was of our own design.) The rest we deleted from isis by making copies of the suspect files to an external hard drive and then connected that drive to a non-isis standalone media composer to have media tool create masterclips into a dummy project bin. This helped but did not resolve all of the "orphan" media files on our isis storage. Support asked us to run the database utilities in addition to the other efforts you described. This is a known issue with isis/interplay. Avid Interplay for Windows 7 Version 2.0 I basically have two questions: one, why are my regular Interplay Access deletions not freeing up more space for Incoming Media and two, if there isn't a way to fix my deletion process to reliably delete all our unused files in Interplay, is there any other reliable, efficient way to know which files are okay to delete directly from the Incoming Media workspace's Avid MediaFiles folder in Windows Explorer? I can see that there are many files in the various folders within AvidMediaFiles, but the problem is I don't know which if any of these are still tied in any way to the active files in our Interplay system, and I'm afraid to delete any of them for fear it will knock something that's been reserved offline (I foolishly tried this about a year ago in a similar situation, and many of our reserved files in Interplay died a painful death). The problem is that the workspace we use for all our Incoming Media, which has a capacity of roughly 7 TB, has recently dropped well below 1 TB of free space, on a fairly consistent basis. I go through each step carefully every night, deleting first the metadata from all files more than a week old, then eventually deleting the media files from everything in the "unused Orphan Clips" search. Basically, we were given a set of instructions by an Avid tech on how best to clear out old files from our server (using Interplay Access) to make room for new files, which is very similar to the standard tutorial located in Interplay Access's help docs. We've been experiencing a problem with our Interplay for a little while, but it hasn't really been a critical thing until just recently. I'm the night-side editor for WEAR-TV in Pensacola, Florida.
